School Surveys on Community Issues

Some local students have been selected to be involved on a bold and exciting new school-wide project which can be of benefit every person living in our community.

Their task is to investigate the potential benefits of creating and running a vibrant, sustainable community website, for the benefit of everyone living in the community - making this a truly unique concept.

Initial surveys will be needed to help plan its launch and future operations successfully.

The students aim to conduct a variety of surveys to collect information about the community e.g.

  • current internet usage in homes
  • mobile phone tarrifs
  • what % of people living in our community actually work from home
  • what people do in the workplace and how far they need to travel to get there

If you receive a reqest to do one, please take about 5 minutes to work through the survey attachments with a student and encourage them to collect information from other families living nearby. Collectively, this will greatly assist the school's community team to get underway and result in the speedier development of the website.

Following the survey, students will work together in small teams to ‘populate’ the website, adding local business data, information about local news and any forthcoming events they know of.

Please visit the community page regularly for the latest details of the surveys being conducted.

Thank you.

PS If you have any local information which you feel might be of interest to people in the community, can you please provide them with full details (including words/pictures and possible links to other websites – and ask to see their results). We hope you will like this new development at the school, please note each student will receive full recognition of each survey published.
